Doll mail!

Hii! I came here to show some doll mail I got today, how exciting!

I waited for these for a while and finally I have them! So, I bought a new Pullip doll to my collection and some doll clothes and shoes!

Lets start with the new comer! I will explain about her better in my next post where I am introducing all of my current dolls, I try to focus more on the model itself.

So here she is! Pullip Ddalgi!
I have been eyeing this doll on and off for some time (and for some time, I really do mean for some time.). She was the first Pullip doll ever I saw on social media and I guess since then I just got obsessed with her entire look.
It's pretty Harajuku/Heisei/Apple core vibe and I am totally here for it.
I do know her entire attire is based on strawberries, hence her name meaning strawberry in Korean but you can't blame me, strawberries and apples both have the same color scheme!

Anyways, lets look at some unboxing photos! I took an unboxing video too but I'm not gonna edit that anytime soon lol.

I didn't take any photos of how she was sent to me but lets say I didn't expect it to be wrapped in a brown paper and then having the bubble wrap on.. It was quite interesting but gladly the doll wasn't damaged, unfortunately the package had some damage (the window being half way off and a little tear close to it) but you can't see it.
So somehow the doll survived the handling of different facilities etc!
Either way, the package is so pretty, I love the colors so much. It's so vibrant and it has such a summer vibe (but also it could kind of give Christmas vibes hence the red and green color combination with the gold Pullip text).

And here is the back side of the package! I love it when the box has one of the promo/listing photos on it.

(The shoes on the last photo didn't come with her)

I adored her for a while in her box and I was tempted to keep her in there but I am not that kind of collector who keeps their stuff in their original packages.
So! She comes up with a collared dress, tie, apron, stockings, shoes, bag (filled with cotton), collectors card, a red stand which is a little bit transparent.

The more I was looking through her stuff the more things I noticed, differences I have actually never have noticed or payed attention to.
So! I decided to give you all a little ride with the little discoveries I made so enjoy the ride!

All this spiraling down started from this, I was adoring her, then i adored the collectors card, then I looked at her, and the card again... and then the doll... and then I noticed that they have used totally different kind of fabric on her head piece, tie, waistband and pockets.

And of course I had to start to search about it more because why not!
I found out that there is actually a lot more differences than this, I kind of felt off about the red and white striped stockings and you know what? It turns out they were different colored too in the promotion pictures!

So, this is the promotion photo I saw back in 2011 and till this day these are the photos I associate Ddalgi with. You notice that the stockings have three different colors? White, light green and dark green.
Mine has white and pink. Well you know what? It actually doesn't end here.
Yes, there is a THIRD variety!

In here she has stockings with three colors, white, light green/yellow and pink/red.
But somehow these are also the images I associate with Ddalgi?? How come I have never noticed or not seen anyone talk about this? I find things like these so interesting, how the product changes in between prototype/promotion photos to the actual listing.
And while writing this I noticed that my dolls bag has white lace next to the red ribbon and on that listing/selling photo it just has four white threads with some green stitches?? Am I going crazy at this point?

But oh! It does not end here!

On these photos, which they used for her selling listing, she has ONCE AGAIN different patterned fabric on her head piece, tie, waistband and pockets.
So it gets me thinking, how many of these versions did they sell? I have seen the white, green/yellow and pink/red colored stockings few times for sale, with the doll and without the doll.
Why does mine have white and pink stripes? Does someone have the different patterned clothing pieces?
I guess I will never know. But I personally lowkey wished I had the green stockings haha!
I don't know, I just find it a little bit funny that I have associated two different versions at the same time to Ddalgi without realising they are a little bit different and it seems like now I own the third version of it.

Either way, I love this doll and her desing. It's just such an joyful and colorful individual!
Can't wait to get her a new wig though, I don't fully vibe with the U-shaped bangs and her eyebrows deserves to be seen (more or less, we'll see what I'll do with the wig once I get it)!

The pink eyeshadow is a really bold choise and I always have found it odd but it is a very pretty color and it suits her really well!
My friend mentioned that it matches her stockings and to be fair, it made me like the eyelids more!

✨Hi from the editors table! After my research and chatting with a fellow doll collector I have been informed that I happen to own a re-release version of Ddalgi!
After I heard about that, it made sense but I fully didn't believe it at first so I started to search Pullips & Junk, JPGroove, A-A-A, PullipNet and PullipStyle and I could find zero mentions about this, so I got more skeptic about it being a re-release and I found this as an interesting rabbit hole. Why was there never any mentions about a re-release Ddalgi?
I knew that the one with the green and white 3-striped stocking version was just for the promotion photos and products sometimes change after that. My fellow doll collector found some Facebook posts from PullipStyle's seller who announced in 2021 that they have Pullip Ddalgi in stock, based on that I thought maybe it's just deadstock? Sometimes stores have that, or maybe they ran out of materials and they used slightly different ones on the version I had. That surely isn't surprising in the doll industry, especially when the details didn't have that big of a difference. On the Facebook comments I saw on the screenshot, were mentioned that it surely is a re-release.
So the one I happen to have, with just screaming red/pink and white striped stockings is a re-release from 2021! I just found it very odd that any of the sites I mentioned didn't have any news about it, surely Groove would have made an announcment, right? They are promoting the new re-releases pretty actively on their Instagram account about Pullip Alice Du Jarding and Pullip Elisabeth but it seems like they might have never done that with Ddalgi? Unless they actually have promoted the re-release version somewhere and somehow I am missing out something!
I also know there is an My Select Doll -line, which contains Pullip Ddalgi, Pullip Merl, Pullip Paja Pullip Melissa and Dal Frara but they don't have any stock items with them.

But somehow, even with the evidence of the screenshots of the two Facebook posts and few comments, I still am a little bit skeptical (but I do believe it) about it but hey, that's on me and at the end of the day, does it really matter? No, it does not.
And at least I had fun while doing this weird research of Pullip Ddalgi and it has been a pretty nice use and practise for my english skills!✨

And now to the other doll mails I also got today!

I got this really cute shirt for Ddalgi! I am gonna change the bow to a red or a green one with a self made apple looking button.

Then I got this Isul Sith dolls stock vest, I was thinking I could make it a little bit more fitting for Pullip size vise and I have an outfit vision for it already. I just have to sew it or commission it.

And then this!!! Pullip Merori dolls stock jacket I have been drooling after FOREVER!
I didn't expect it to be so soft?? I can't wait to go outside and take some winter photos while we still have snow, the doll who's gonna get this jacket needs to get her wig first though and we'll see how the outdoor photographing goes like, haven't done that in AGES haha! Also fingers crossed I am not gonna freeze my fingers off!

And then I got some shoes! I wasn't sure would they fit for Obitsu bodies or even Pullip dolls stock body and I desided to gamble it and bought them and gladly they do fit!

The photo is missing one pair of black and brown mary jane shoes, I gave them already for two of my dolls hehe.

Well, that's it! It was pretty fun to do this post, maybe I'll do some more in the future!
See ya!
